Description of Session:
Warm weather in WI also brings with it tick activity and WI ticks are hosts for many pathogens that cause diseases in humans. This presentation will focus on the diseases that WI tick bites can transmit to humans and why you want to do your best to avoid those tick bites from the physician’s perspective. When should a tickborne disease be considered and what laboratory testing should be ordered to help make the correct diagnosis? The speaker will also touch on the changes to the testing algorithm for Lyme’s disease and if or how it impacts patient care.
A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit.
