Original release: March 19, 2021. From Federal BLS: “Fatal work injuries totaled 113 in 2019 for Wisconsin, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Regional Commissioner Jason Palmer noted that the number of work-related fatalities in Wisconsin was down from the previous year. (See chart 1.) “Over 72,000 nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses were reported among Wisconsin’s private industry employers in 2016, resulting in an incidence rate of 3.7 cases per 100 full-time equivalent workers, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Assistant Commissioner for Regional Operations Charlene Peiffer noted that Wisconsin was among 21 states that had an incidence rate of total recordable cases (TRC) significantly higher than the national rate of 2.9.” Continue reading…
