Description:

This one-day meeting presented by the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) offers clinical and public health laboratorians, infection preventionists and public health officers the chance to strengthen their relationships through networking and discussions of relevant laboratory issues.  This year’s meeting is a continuation of our 3 year plan that is focused on improving laboratory biosafety and biosecurity in WI. As we discuss some of our current public health threats, we will explore how risk assessment has played a part in our response. We will also try to discern how successful we have been in applying the lessons learned from Ebola planning and risk assessment to emerging threats such as Zika virus. Other topics of discussion will be the Elizabethkingia outbreak in WI, case studies, mrc-1 surveillance, and a review of common packaging and shipping problems.

A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 5.5 contact hours of instruction toward credit.
This program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program.

As part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate. We will provide you this number during the workshop.
Please note that application for P.A.C.E. education credit must be received within one month of the workshop.
