This presentation will describe the two FDA approved interferon gamma release assays (IGRAs) for the laboratory detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection; QuantiFERON®-TB Gold In-Tube and T-SPOT®.TB.  The CDC recommendations for the use of IGRAs will be reviewed and potential problems and future areas of research will be presented.
