Partnering to Identify a New Public Health Threat: EVALI

Presenters:

  • Ian Pray, PHD, MPH, is an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Noel Stanton, MS, is the Chemical Response Coordinator at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene

Description of Session:

This webinar will demonstrate how various Wisconsin public health partners worked together to investigate and identify the emerging public health threat of EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping product use associated with lung injury).  A broad overview and update on the current situation and what is currently known on the topic will be followed by details describing Wisconsin’s role in identifying this threat and its cause.

 

A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit.

This program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program.

As part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate. We will provide you this number during the webinar.
