Description of Session:
This “hands-on” wet laboratory workshop for Wisconsin clinical laboratory professionals will review fundamental Gram stain principles. The workshop will provide training in staining, reading, and reporting gram stains of clinical specimens. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice their staining skills on prepared slides of patient specimens, positive blood culture bottles, and organism isolates. Specimen inoculation and plating techniques will also be demonstrated and performed.
P.A.C.E. Information:
A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 3.5 contact hours of instruction toward credit.
This program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program.
