25 mm static free, black cowl

Filter:
0.8 micron mixed cellulose ester filter

Use:
Collection of asbestos and other fibers

 

 

 

 

Cassette:
37 mm, white-banded

Filter:
0.8 micron mixed cellulose ester filter (AA)

Use:
Closed-faced for collection of metal fumes and metal particulates; open faced for the collection of molds

Note:
This filter is not pre-weighed and therefore cannot be used for gravimetric analysis.

 

 

Cassette:

Filter:
Type A glass fiber filter

Use:
Sampling some pesticides, coal tar pitch volatiles, and paraffin

Two- and three-piece 37 mm, yellow-banded

Filter:

Use:
When total or respirable mass is required; also used for silica, particulates, and metals collection

Note:
When respirable mass is requested we will supply a two-piece cassette if using the MSA nylon cyclone, or a three-piece cassette if using a SKC aluminum cyclone.

Other Filters

 

The lab also supplies a variety of treated filters for special applications.

Treated filters generally have limited shelf life and should be ordered as close as possible to the sampling date. The treated filters are usually made only after you request them, so an additional day or two may need to be added for shipment.

Included in this category are:

1. Quartz filters for elemental/organic carbon (diesel exhaust)
2. H₂SO₄ treated glass fiber filter for organic acids such as methylene dianiline
3. Hex chromium filters (contact the laboratory at 800-446-0403 to discuss sampling strategy)

The laboratory may not be able to provide the requested analysis when an inappropriate filter type has been used. Contact the laboratory at 800-446-0403 whenever you have any questions as to which filter to use.
